Neucloplasty
Neucloplasty is a procedure where with the help of an x-ray machine a disc with contained disc herniation is treated with the help of a laser probe inserted into the disc through a needle.
The laser probe is used to evaporate part of the disc, which results in decrease of intradiscal pressure and the herniation tends to retract somewhat with the resultant improvement in the patient’s sciatica. In appropriately selected patients it can be a very useful procedure. Further information can be obtained from the website links provided in the useful links section.
